SmartLynx and Aero Locarno Switzerland define a cooperation agreement

The partnership between the two well established organizations wants to deliver a continuous and consistent training path for cadets aiming for a flying career.
Under this cooperation the students completing the ATPL training with Aero Locarno and attending the Airbus 320 Type Rating with Ansett Aviation Italia will have access to the SmartLynx fleet for the base training, mandatory for the completion of the Type Rating.

The partnership also allows Aero Locarno selected cadets to be assessed by SmartLynx for possible future hiring though the following process:
  • Continuous assessment of the candidate’s performance during the Type Rating by Ansett Aviation TRI’s
  • Pre-Type Rating skill test evaluation carried out by SmartLynx’s staff in Milan Malpensa
  • Final assessment of the candidate’s during the base training
The positive outcome of the process will allow the cadet to have access to an interview with SmartLynx assessment team for a possible engagement contract as First Officer on Airbus A320.

The agreement optimizes costs and training standards while giving a valid response to the current difficult aviation environment, willing to prepare the next generation of pilots for new market opportunities which are on the horizon.
“Our Instructor team has extensive expertise in aviation and training, with decades-long experience teaching students in different stages of flight training.” comments Andrea Braidot, SmartLynx Airlines Crew Training Director, and adds “We are looking forward to the equipping Aero Locarno cadets with practical knowledge in manoeuvring the aircraft in this final stage of their type rating course. They will receive a high-quality preparation for a successful future career on one of the most popular types of aircraft.”

SmartLynx is the base training provider for A320 Type Ratings chosen by Aero Locarno: “We are convinced that the training standards delivered by Aero Locarno shall be appreciated by SmartLynx " states Stefano Buratti, Chief Executive Officer at Aero Locarno “Giving the chance to our cadets to get started with a professional career during the current times is our priority. With that in mind we are extremely happy to start cooperating with SmartLynx, an Operator having a clear vision and strategy with excellent standards ensuring growth and stable working conditions to our cadets”.
